School board adopts proposed final budget for 2017-18
The Shaler Area School District Board of School Directors adopted aProposed Final Budget for 2017-18 school year at its Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.  
Superintendent recaps how Human-Centered Design is being used to create action plans for the District
Mr. Aiken outlines the latest work being done using the Human-Centered Design approach to move Shaler Area forward and create a strategic plan through collaboration with key stakeholders. "Human-Centered Design — Creating action plans" was posted on May 23 at shalerarea.edublogs.org. 
Burchfield Primary students take top awards in Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania contests
Burchfield Primary students entered the Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania’s Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl poster contest and poetry contest and came back with top local and state prizes. 
Shaler Area students participate in Heinz History Center's first youth-designed exhibit
Students from Shaler Area High School and six other area schools recently participated in Green City Remix, the first youth designed exhibit at the Heinz History Center, which opens this month. A special opening celebration will be Monday, May 22.
