Updated Information about the District air quality testing is available online
As part of Shaler Area School District’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for all students, staff and faculty, we have been monitoring the air quality in all of the District buildings and recently completed a number of remediation measures to ensure that goal. 
Shaler Area musicians received top awards at the Festivals of Music
Shaler Area High School student musicians returned from the Festivals of Music, held in Virginia Beach this month, with 16 top awards as well as the Dr. Tim Lautzenhauser’s Esprit de Corps award, presented for the students’ exemplary attitude of positive support and outstanding personal behavior.  
Spring Concert Series runs through April and May
Join the band, orchestra and chorus students this spring for an evening of musical entertainment during the Shaler Area School District Music Department's Spring Concert Series. 
The School Board celebrates the Districts accomplishments under Dr. Shipley upon announcement of his resignation

Shaler Area School Board members, with regret and best wishes, accepted the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Wesley Shipley during the School Board’s regular voting meeting April 15.  

Kennywood Tickets
Shaler Area School Picnic is Saturday, May 2, 2015.  Kennywood tickets will be sold at Central Office on Thursday, April 30, 2015 and Friday, May 1, 2015 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  
Hannah Bradford signs letter of intent for WV Wesleyan
Senior Hannah Bradford signs a National Letter of Intent for West Virginia Wesleyan to play volleyball.  
Two High School students take top places in the 11th High School Integration Bee
Shaler Area High School seniors Josiah Johnson and Jacob Nasiadka, came in first and second place, respectively, in the 2015 University of Pittsburgh High School Integration Bee on Sunday, April 12 .  
Feasibility and Facility Study meeting set for May 27
Shaler Area School District families are invited to a special Feasibility and Facility Study meeting on Wednesday, May 27, at 7 p.m. in the Shaler Area Middle School auditorium, located at 1810 Mt. Royal Blvd. 
High School teacher Jade Leung named finalist for state Teacher of the Year
Shaler Area School District is proud to announce Jade Leung, a Shaler Area High School science teacher, has been named one of 12 finalists for the state Teacher of the Year award. 
Vote for Shaler Area students' artwork in Global Challenge
Shaler Area High School and Middle School students are competing against artists from around the world in The Fairchild Challenge's Global Challenge. Vote for their artwork by April 30!

Summer Volleyball Camp
Two summer volleyball camps will be offered June 8-12, 2015. One for middle school students in grades 7 and 8 and one for students in grades 2-6.
