Shaler Area High School presents Alice in Wonderland Nov. 8-10
Shaler Area High School students will present “Alice in Wonderland” at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 8 and 9, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Shaler Area High School auditorium, 381 Wible Run Road. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students, children, and senior citizens. Children are invited to attend a free tea party (with purchase of a play ticket) from 1 to 1:30 on Saturday, Nov. 10, before the matinee performance. Members of the Shaler Area High School English Honors Society will host the tea party, which will include refreshments, crafts, and a photo booth. 
Local veterans invited to Shaler Area's annual Veterans' Day Celebration
Local veterans are invited to Shaler Area's annual Veterans' Day Celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Shaler Area Middle School from 8 to 10 a.m. 
PDE Comprehensive Plan available for public review
PA Department of Education Chapter 4 regulations specifies planning requirements for school entities.  Every 3 years, a school entity must submit a comprehensive plan to the secretary of education for approval. This plan establishes the areas of professional focus for the upcoming three-year period (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2022). This draft copy will be available on the Shaler Area School District website now through November 7, 2018, in order to allow members of the community to review its contents. 
Shaler Area High School students earn top honor in World Languages Competition
Shaler Area High School world language students earned top awards in the World Languages Competition sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Slippery Rock University on October 9. 
Parents invited to Mindset Matters
Parents and caregivers are invited to participate in Mindset Matters, a workshop to explore how embracing a growth mindset can change the way an individual parents, teaches, learns, and connects with their students. 
Shaler Area’s Reserve Primary named Title I Distinguished School
Shaler Area is proud to announce Reserve Primary School was named a Title I Distinguished Schools by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Division of Federal Programs. 
Shaler Area teacher recognized as Grandin Award finalist
Shaler Area teacher Julia Igims will be recognized by the Autism Connection of PA as one of two Grandin Award finalists for her involvement and support of students who have autism.
