Reminder: No classes on Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day
Shaler Area School District will not hold classes on Monday, Oct. 12, in honor of Columbus Day. Teachers will report to the District for an in-service day of professional development.

Shaler Area School District invites interested community members to a Town Hall meeting focused on the Rogers Primary construction project at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the Shaler Area Middle School auditorium.

Shaler Area School District is proud to recognize the athletic accomplishments and contributions of its alumni and supporters, and this year will recognize five athletes and one team by inducting them into the Shaler Area School District Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 24.

Shaler Area School District students, staff and organizations are coming together to honor the memory Ava Campbell, Marzolf Primary School first-grade student, who died on Sunday, Sept. 27, as the result of an automobile accident.  
Shaler Area student wins first in National Garden Club poetry contest
Shaler Area Elementary School student Isabelle Dutkovic’s creative writing skills are being recognized at the national level after receiving first place in the National Garden Club’s annual poetry contest.  
Shaler Area senior a Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program
Shaler Area School District is proud to recognize senior Zachary Hughes as being named a Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.  
Backpack Initiative quilt raffle raises more than $400 for the program
Congratulations to Pam Morris who won the Shaler Area Backpack Initiative's quilt raffle. The quilt, made out of Shaler Area T-shirts, was created by retired teachers Mary Lou Torchia, Lin Henninger and LuAnn McMillin to be raffled off to benefit the Backpack Initiative.

Shaler Area School District thanks all of the school staff, students, community groups, police and fire departments, and community members who took part in making homecoming 2015 a success.

Shaler Area Middle School Vendor & Craft Fair
Shaler Area Middle School will host its annual fundraising Vendor & Craft Fair on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria. 
Shaler Area Titans basketball clinic
Shaler Area coach Rob Niederberger will host a basketball clinic on Oct. 24 for students in grades 2 to 8. 
Shaler Area girls basketball clinic
Girls in grades 3 to 8 are invited to the Shaler Area Titans Girls Basketball Clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
