Special Education Plan
Every three years the PA Department of Education requires that a school entity must develop and submit for approval a special education plan. The special education plan must be made available for public inspection and comment for 28 calendar days and then it can be approved by the School Board.

Parent/Guardian Educational Technology Survey
As we continue to work towards excellence in our district we are looking to gather data relevant to the use of Educational Technologies throughout the district. To help support this collection across the county the Allegheny Intermediate Unit has contracted with BrightBytes Clarity.  We are reaching out to ask you to take part in our parent/guardian questionnaire.

Girls Track and Field Team News
Our Shaler Area Girls Track and Field Team finished first out of 43 teams at the Butler invitational. 
Kindergarten Registration 2014-2015 and Titan Tots Program
If you have a child who will be five (5) years of age ON or BEFORE August 31, 2014 your child is eligible to attend Kindergarten.  
Seel Named SADD National Student of the Year
Madeline Seel, a Senior at Shaler Area High School, has been chosen by the SADD National Board of Directors as the SADD National Student of the year for 2014-2015. We are very proud of her accomplishment. 
Pittsburgh Gallery Crawl
Monica McElwain and Bill Casey, two Shaler Area Visual Arts Teachers, will have work on display at the upcoming Pittsburgh Gallery Crawl sponsored by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust 
Shaler Area Chimney Swift Tower
In the fall of 2012, Audubon Society of Western PA, in collaboration with Shaler Area School District, and with sparkfunding from the Spark Fund, installed a Chimney Swift Tower at the Shaler Area High School.
