Weekly district communication to SASD families
Shaler Area shared its weekly communication with families on February 26 and included information about the Parent Commitment Form deadlines and Town Hall meetings for K-6, the school closure process when Shaler Area transitions to 4-day in-person instruction, upcoming Managing Stress During Stressful Times virtual community event, and a summary of COVID-19 cases in the district for the week of Feb. 22.  
Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting scheduled for March 3
The Shaler Area Board of School Directors scheduled a Buildings and Grounds Committee Meeting at 6 p.m. on March 3 in person and virtually.  The public can participate in the meeting via a virtual platform or via RSVP to participate in person. To maintain the capacity limits on indoor gatherings, in-person participation will be limited. Once the in-person attendance capacity is reached, the public may still participate via the virtual platform. Information regarding the specifics of the platform and RSVP form will be posted to the district website on Monday, March 1, 2021.  
Shaler Area to host virtual community event to address managing stress
Shaler Area is proud to host “Managing Stress During Stressful Times,” a virtual community event, on Wednesday, March 3, from 6-7 p.m. This virtual event will offer resources to students and families to help them identify and deal with the increased stressors of living during a pandemic.

Shaler Area shared its weekly communication with families on February 19 and included information the transition to 4-day in-person instruction and upcoming deadlines, a reminder of the additional in-person instruction day for Cohort A on Wednesday, Feb. 24, and a summary of COVID-19 cases in SASD for the week of February 15.  
School Board approves the 2021-2022 school calendar
The Shaler Area School Board of Directors approved the 2021-2022 school calendar during its February 17 voting meeting. The first day of school for all students will be August 25, 2021. The last day of school and graduation is scheduled for June 3, 2022.  
Shaler Area releases plan to increase in-person instruction to 4 days per week
Shaler Area presented a summary of the parent/guardian survey results submitted earlier in February, and its recommendation to transition to 4-day in-person instruction for students in K-12 in a phased model over the course of the next two months during the School Board's February 17 voting meeting.  
Shaler Area and North Allegheny girls basketball teams take public stand against racism
UPDATE: This game and scheduled events have been postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7:30 p.m. Shaler Area’s varsity girls basketball program is teaming up with North Allegheny’s varsity student-athletes to show a united front against racism during their game. Shaler Area School District is selling a 2005 Ford Utility Truck with Western plow. Sealed bids are being accepted at Shaler Area School District, 1660 Butler Plank Road, Glenshaw, PA, 15116.
