Five Shaler Area Elementary School students were chosen for and performed in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Elementary District 1 Band Fest West at Quaker Valley Middle School on March 13-14, 2015. Students were selected to participate by PMEA and their band directors. The students performed with a total of 130 students from western Allegheny County.

The Shaler Area students who performed were:

Emily Moorey (6th grade) trombone
Erika Waldron (6th grade) trumpet 1
