Two High School students accepted into NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles

Shaler Area High School seniors Adam Bleil and Tori Lorenz were accepted into the prestigious National Association for Music Education All-National Honor Ensembles and will perform alongside some of the best student musicians in the country in October.

Adam Bleil, who plays trumpet, was accepted into the All-National Honor Ensembles Jazz Band, and Tori Lorenz, an alto, was accepted into the All-National Honor Ensembles Mixed Choir. Both students will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to perform in the NAfME All-National Honors Ensembles program at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and conference center, Oct. 25-28, with the final performance on the historic stage of the Grand Ole Opry House.

Bleil and Lorenz were eligible to apply for the All-National Honor Ensembles after being accepted into the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Ensembles last school year. The students then had to complete a lengthy application process that included submitting two videos displaying their musicianship. This is the first time Shaler Area High School students have been accepted into the NAfME All-National Honors Ensembles.

Lorenz is a member of the Shaler Area Chamber Choir, Women’s Chorus and Dance team. Bleil is a member of the Chamber Choir, Advanced Jazz Band and one of this year’s drum majors.
