Burchfield Primary School Principal Jeff Rojik has been named 2024 Pittsburgh Penguins MVP—Most Valuable Principal.

Mr. Rojik is one of 15 building administrators across Allegheny County honored by the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Grable Foundation, and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. As part of this award, Mr. Rojik will be recognized at the March 17th Penguins Game, where he will receive a customized Pens jersey and a $1,000 donation to Burchfield Primary School.

Dr. Sean C. Aiken, Superintendent, expressed, “although Mr. Rojik is extremely humble and most likely resistant to this attention, he represents our district and Burchfield Primary with strong leadership, character, and compassion. We are proud of him and all of Burchfield Primary for being a school of distinction.” Dr. Bryan O’Black, Deputy Superintendent, shared, “Mr. Rojik is a friend, mentor, and supporter of all that is Shaler Area. His ability to connect with our families in the district is so special and does not go unnoticed.”

Mr. Rojik reflected, “This honor is humbling and it’s very much appreciated, but as I think of the MVP of the Penguins or any other team could tell you, most times a team isn’t recognized unless the team is very good. We are grateful to have great staff, great kids, great families, and a great community.”
