That is why the Shaler Area School District is so pleased that preschool programs are offered at primary schools in our district free of charge to qualifying families.

With the winter weather season approaching, we want to remind our families of the district’s procedures for delaying or cancelling the school day to ensure you can plan accordingly and provide information about the district using Flexible Instructional Days in place of cancelling classes due to inclement weather.

Last week members of the Shaler Area community gathered to celebrate the rich history of the school district as we mark our 50th anniversary. Former students and staff shared first-hand accounts of key events over the decades—from magical homecomings to athletic championships to cataclysmic floods. They also reflected on the cultural distinctives that make Shaler Area such a special place.
