Welcome to Marzolf Primary School! It is an honor and a pleasure to serve our students, parents, staff, and community as your principal. Thank you for choosing our school and we promise to do our best to educate and support every student, every day.

 

I look forward to meeting and getting to know our students, parents, and families well. I would also like to take a moment to share some information about myself:

 

 

 

*Native of Lilly, Pennsylvania (a very small town in Cambria County) and 1986 graduate of Penn Cambria High School, Cresson, PA

 

*Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, PA in 1990

 

*Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership at Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA in 1995

 

*Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Widener University, Chester, PA in 1997

 

*Doctoral degree coursework at the University of Pittsburgh

*Married to wife Nancy, a Kindergarten teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools

 

*Four children: Tyler (a graduate of Wyotech Institute in Diesel Technology and currently a Diesel Mechanic/Welder in Altoona, PA), Alex (a West Virginia University graduate, Criminal Justice major, Automotive Salesman), Lilliana (Senior at Slippery Rock University, Social Work Major), and Harrison (Freshman at Slippery Rock University, Exercise Science Major and member of Cross Country and Track teams), all who have attended or are attending the Shaler Area schools

 

*Two pets: a dog (Chihuahua mix named Rosalita), a Gecko (Alexandra) and a cat (our beloved Manx named Coral who crossed the rainbow bridge.)

 

*Four year letterman and PIAA state championship participant in Track and Field and Cross Country at Penn Cambria High School

 

*NCAA Division III collegiate athlete at Susquehanna University in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field and Cross Country (4 year letterman, all-conference honors, and school record holder in indoor and outdoor Distance Medley Relay since 1987) 

 

*Interests and hobbies include: spending time with family, reading for pleasure, listening to music, visiting Colonial Williamsburg, VA, Dana Point, CA, and Ocean City, MD, avid runner 30+ miles per week, collecting vintage baseball cards and visiting different baseball stadiums, supporting the University of Pittsburgh athletics, following all sports.
