Shaler Area Middle School students to stage “The Mystery Club”

Shaler Area Middle School students will come together to solve crimes on stage when the curtain rises on this year’s fall play, “The Mystery Club.”

The play brings together an actor, athlete, scientist, gamer, bookworm and school newspaper reporter who can't get anyone to join their own after-school clubs. The unlikely group joins to form The Mystery Club, a detective team that investigates the crimes of their fellow classmates.

The Mystery Club solves two cases in the two-act play: The Case of the Missing Camera and The Case of the Milk Monster.

This year close to 40 students will take the stage as cast members, including seventh-graders Gracie Thom as Liza and Anthony DiGirolamo as Max, and eighth-graders Sonny DeMasi as Boomer, Alyssa Lorenz as Taylor, Brindle Walzer as Quinn, and Zoe Babbit as Parker. The cast also features eighth-graders Mayah Charity as Vice Principal Copper and Bella Greco as Assistant Vice Principal Crakkup.

Performances will be 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Shaler Area Middle School auditorium, 1810 Mt. Royal Blvd. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
