Shaler Area’s Backpack Initiative is one of 200 causes eligible to win a $25,000 grant through the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program.
The Backpack Initiative provides child-friendly, single-serving snacks and easily prepared meals to students each Friday, providing a weekend food supply for students in need. The program was selected by the State Farm Youth Advisory Board to compete for one of 40 grants to be awarded
