Shaler Area High School students interested in careers in education are getting the opportunity to gain teaching experience through the Future Teachers of America club.
Future Teachers of America aims to provide high school students with a unique opportunity to explore the teaching profession and provide academic support to young students.
In January, students in Shaler Area High School’s Future Teachers of America club visited Reserve Primary to observe teachers, help with lesson plans and work with students on academic skills.
Shaler Area’s club chapter plans to expand the mentoring arm of the program to reach all buildings in the district and provide high school students with opportunities to become more involved in all aspects of education.
