Career Day provides fifth-graders with an introduction to different jobs
Shaler Area Elementary fifth-graders explored different careers with hands-on activities during the school's annual Career Day. Students took the day to rotate through classrooms and learn about the skills and classes needed for different careers from professionals. Students also were given the opportunity to explore the careers through hands-on activities, such as icing a cupcake or welding two pieces of metal together with a virtual welding machine. Students and instructors from A.W. Beattie Career Center also introduced careers accessible through the school's programming.
