Shaler Area will host two FREE coding camps this summer from June 20-23. STEM Camp: Scratch Edition will be available for students who completed grades 2-3, and STEM Camp: App Design Edition will be available for students who completed grades 4-5.
STEM Camp: Scratch Edition (grades 2-3)
If your student has completed grade 2 or 3 during the 2021-22 school year she/he is eligible to participate in the STEM Coding Camp this summer. The camp will work on Scratch Coding at Scott Primary School June 20-23 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Grant funding is allowing us to offer this camp FREE OF COST to SASD students. Registration is limited and participants will be admitted on a first come first-served basis. Register by June 17.

STEM Camp: App Design Edition (grades 4-5)
If your student has completed grade 4 or 5 during the 2021-22 school year she/he is eligible to participate in the STEM Coding Camp this summer. The camp will work on app development. The students will become app designers and learn how to develop an app from idea, to a prototype, to a fully functional interactive app. Camp will run June 20-23 from 12:30-3:00 p.m. at Scott Primary School. Grant funding is allowing us to offer this camp FREE OF COST to our SASD students. Registration is limited and participants will be admitted on a first come first-served basis. Register by June 17.

Throughout camp photographs are taken of our students while they are engaged in various academic and non-academic activities that are an integral part of the STEM Camp experience. Shaler Area may use these photographs for news releases, yearbooks, postings on the district website or social media accounts, district video or slide presentations, Shaler Area promotional materials, and other forms of media communications. If you wish to opt-out of this media practice for your please complete the attached form by no later than June 20, 2022. PLEASE ONLY FILL THIS OUT IF YOU DO NOT WANT SHALER AREA TO PHOTOGRAPH YOUR CHILD.
