The Shaler Area School District will be hosting a 3-week blended summer literacy camp for students currently in grades K-3 as of the 2021-22 school year. The camp will run from July 25, 2022 to August 12, 2022. Students will have 2 on-site days each week (Monday & Tuesday) and 3 virtual days each week(Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). Camp hours are 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
We are mindful of the strain a remote environment can create; our intention is to offer a fun and engaging program to "gear up" students for the 2022-23 school year. The program will provide a variety of activities to promote, remediate, and develop strong literacy skills for students in Grades K-3. The program will include a variety of pre-selected trade-book texts that are focused on age-appropriate themes with a focus on the development of foundational skills.
Teachers will facilitate (1) morning meeting each week and post engaging activities related to texts via Google Classroom. We look forward to providing this opportunity to our families.
