Shaler Area School District is proud to bring Saltworks Theatre Company’s “Off ‘Script” to the District on Thursday, January 26, 2017, to bring awareness to the dangers of prescription drug abuse and opioid dependency.

Thanks to the financial support from the School District’s four communities—Shaler and Reserve Townships and the Boroughs of Etna and Millvale—every Shaler Area High School student will see the performance during the school day, and the community is invited to a free performance at 7 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the Shaler Area High School auditorium, 381 Wible Run Road. Parents are encouraged to bring middle school-aged students to the evening performance.

Saltworks Theatre Company’s “Off ‘Script” is a play that features the stories of three high school students—an athlete, a scholar, and an average student—and their addiction to prescription drugs, the consequences of their actions, and their journey to recovery.

“Off ‘Script” is part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s 360 Strategy aimed at stopping the deadly cycle of prescription opioid and heroin abuse.
