Marching Band Registration
Dear Seventh and Eighth Grade Parents and Guardians,

The Shaler Area Titan Marching Band will hold our annual Marching Band Registration online this year, opening on Wednesday, April 29th, 2020. Normally, we would hold a registration night where staff and boosters are available for questions. With the mandated restrictions in place, everything this year will be done virtually.   As with everything else going on this Spring, we must adjust and adapt. Check out the website regarding 2020-2021 Marching Band Registration, Drumline placement, Auxiliary Try-outs, the Fall Schedule, etc. by clicking on this link:

You can also get to this link by visiting the SAHS Band Website. Students must be enrolled in a band class to be an instrumentalist in Marching Band.

About the Band:
After joining the marching band, your son/daughter will be a part of a thriving organization and years of tradition. The "Titan" Marching Band is an integral part and proud representative of the Shaler Area School District and surrounding communities. The band performs regularly at football games and can also be seen at various parades, festivals and events. Several of the annual parades include the Kennywood, Memorial Day and Pittsburgh Veterans Day Parade. The 150+ member marching band also travels each year on the Performing Arts department trip and has performed and competed all over the country in places like Disney World, Myrtle Beach, Virginia Beach, Boston, Chicago, Washington, DC,, Nashville and New York City, often earning top ratings.

Basic Schedule:
Some of the groups usually hold a few summer rehearsals. All summer rehearsals are tentative right now depending on the mandated restrictions due to COVID-19. Towards the end of the summer, we have a one-day rookie camp in July and then a two week Band Camp in August. Once the school year starts, we practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:30pm. The "Fall" season typically consists of the Varsity Football Games, Band Festivals and Parades.

You can get involved in the SABPA as well! We are always looking for parent volunteers and chaperones. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Thanks!
