Shaler Area is proud to announce four Shaler Area middle school and high school students were accepted into the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 Junior High Chorus.

The PMEA Junior High District Chorus is made up of 7th, 8th and 9th grade students selected based on their level of musicianship, involvement in the vocal arts, and level of vocal talent. The PMEA District 1 JR High Chorus Festival will be held at Independence Middle School in Bethel Park on March 27-28, 2020. This festival is comprised of students from 54 districts in Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene, and Fayette County. The choir will be under the direction of Mr. Ryan Keeling, Assistant Conductor of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and Director of Choral Activities at West Liberty University.
