Shaler Area to extend virtual instruction through January 15

Dear Shaler Area families,
This communication is to notify you that out of an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to extend virtual instruction for one additional week. We recognize the incredible hardship this creates for many of our families, and we sincerely apologize that we were not able to send this announcement sooner.
Shaler Area students will remain in virtual instruction through January 15, 2021. Monday, January 18, is a scheduled in-service day for teachers, and there will be no school for students. We will return to hybrid instruction on Tuesday, January 19, for Cohort A and Thursday, January 21, 2021 for Cohort B.
Please know that this decision is disappointing for all of us, and we look forward to welcoming students and staff back into our buildings.
