Shaler Area Elementary School fifth-graders explored different careers with hands-on activities during the school's annual Career Day on Oct. 17. Students took the day to rotate through classrooms and learn about the skills and classes needed for different careers as well as explore the careers through hands-on activities. A.W. Beattie Career Center instructors and Shaler Area High School students who are duel-enrolled in A.W. Beattie Career Center programs introduced students to:
- Health science, pharmacology, and dental fields
- Computer programming
- Emergency response technology
- Sports medicine and rehabilitation therapy
- Engineering design
- Veterinary assistant services
- Auto collision technology
- Cosmetology
- Science technology
