Shaler Area is proud to be recognized for its efforts to encourage health and wellness within the District.

Shaler Area was recognized as a Wellness Champion during the Champions of Wellness Celebration and AIU Board Member Convention on March 29. Representatives from the District accepted a plaque and check for $4,000 presented by the Allegheny County Schools Health Insurance Consortium. Shaler Area earned the recognition for its commitment to employee wellness, for empowering employees to become individual wellness champions, and for attaining at least 50 percent enrollment in the Champions of Wellness rewards program.

Shaler Area also was named 2nd runner-up in the “Best of the Best” ACSHIC Wellness Video Competition. The video highlighted the Shaler Area 10,000 Step Challenge program which invited all District employees to improve their health and wellness with the goal of each participant walking 10,000 steps per day.
