Shaler Area students accepted into PMEA District 1 Band
Five Shaler Area High School students are being recognized for their musical abilities by being accepted into the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 Band.
The following students were selected for the ensemble:
- Jacob Matthews (grade 12) - Trumpet
- Jon Brockway (grade 11) - Euphonium
- Michael Chaney (grade 11) - Clarinet
- Maryann Berdik (grade 11) - Flute
- Cara Roth (grade 11) - Contra Alto Clarinet
The PMEA District 1 Senior High Band Festival will be held at Mt. Lebanon High School on February 8-10. This festival is comprised of students from 54 districts in Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene and Fayette County. The guest conductor will be Dr. Robert Cameron, Director of Bands at the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University.
