Daily attendance portal is now open
Dear Shaler Area families,
 
This email is to inform our families that the district has resolved the technical issues regarding the submission of daily attendance during virtual learning.  Effective today, September 10, 2020, daily attendance must be logged by 11:59 p.m. for each school day via the Infinite Campus Student Portal. The portal can be accessed by directly logging in to the Infinite Campus Student Portal or Parent Portal. Each day, there will be one assignment called “Attendance” under “Assignments Due Today” that you will click on to indicate the student is present for that day. Student attendance will be monitored by the classroom teacher through a combination of work completion, “live” lesson participation, and student engagement. Additionally, class attendance will be taken for students in Grades K-12 by teachers during “live” lessons. 
 
During virtual learning, the District will be monitoring student attendance closely. Any student having excessive absences as outlined in Board Policy # 204 - Attendance may be asked to engage in a School Attendance Improvement Conference in order to prevent additional consequences. Additional information on student attendance is available in the SASD Virtual Student Guidelines.
