Shaler Area High School presents Little Women to a virtual audience

Shaler Area High School students are making sure the high school stage will not go dark this fall.
For the past two months, a group of dedicated students have followed a strict health and safety plan in order to safely bring “Little Women” to the high school stage November 20-21. The play will be performed for a virtual audience via livestream broadcast.
“Little Women,” based on the novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott and adapted by Thomas Hischak, follows the classic story of the four March daughters Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy and their experiences transitioning from childhood to adulthood.
Cast as the March daughters is junior Cassidy Laffey as Meg March, senior Zoe Babbit as Jo, junior Mia Masucci as Beth, and junior Flannery Loudon as Amy.
The performance will also feature seniors Abby Sawa as Marmee, Sonny DeMasi as Laurie, and Lexi Costanza as the narrator, Josephine March
Anne Loudon, play director, said student leaders emerged to design costumes, create the set, block scenes and provide additional direction to their classmates. Senior Alaina Donovan is overseeing costume design, and senior Caitlin Fedorek designed the set.
The performances will be 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21.
Tickets for the livestream are $10 for an individual and $25 for a family and can be purchased online at www.showtix4u.com/events/SApresents. Tickets go on sale November 4. For performance or ticketing questions, call 412-492-1200 ext. 1530.
