Meet Mrs. Vita
Hi! I'm Mrs. Vita. I have been teaching 2nd grade at the Shaler Area School District since the 2005-2006 school year. I am a life-long Shaler resident. My undergraduate degree is from Robert Morris University and my elementary teaching certificate is from the University of Pittsburgh. I have two college age children. Both of them are graduates of Shaler Area.
I'm really looking forward to an exciting year. In science, we have many exciting things to explore such as; learning about solids, liquids, and gases, watching a butterfly emerge from its chrysalis, learning about forces of motion , and balancing objects. In math they'll learn to tell time, count money, and add 2-digit numbers with regrouping.
In second grade the students switch classes everyday. During the 6-day rotation they stay with me 2 days for Social Studies, 2 days with Mrs. Helfrich for handwriting and health, and 2 days for computers with Mrs. Fogle. It sure is a fun time to be in 2B!!
