There are several other areas that the class will cover, which include learning about the bones in the body, a different muscle each month, and different ways to eat healthy using the food guide pyramid / my plate. This class will cover not only the fitness and health components based on the national standards, but will involve the introduction to many basic skills that are used everyday.

Students in 3rd grade will have an opportunity to participate in a couple after school programs as well. There will be an intramural program in the fall months and a running club in the spring months.
- Intramurals -  The students will participate in several sports, activities, games, etc. after school while competing against other teams. Each week there will be a sport specific focus and the teams will compete against each other while using sportsmanship.  Team Champions are announced at the end of the program's last session.
 - Running Club- The students learn to prepare for a 5K race by building up their endurance. Each session will consist of running, stretching, and activities that deal with increasing the students' heart rates as they train for a race. At the end of the session, the students will have the option to sign up for a local race and run it. This club focuses on how running can be done anywhere at anytime for everyone.

Students in 2nd grade will have an opportunity to participate in an after school program as well. There will be a Fitness club program in the winter months.
Fitness Club- It is something for the students to engage in after school, to help promote the importance of being physically active. This Fitness Club will consist of a variety of fitness routines, exercises, sports, and games/activities that will be fun and enjoyable for the students while learning about the importance of staying physically active.
