The month of September continues work to pour the first floor slab, install the steel beam, set up the boiler room, and install the exterior brick on Scott Primary School.
Shaler Area also announced “Scott Primary School” as the official name of the new primary school in August. The naming follows a process that started in the spring of 2017 with a community survey that solicited feedback for the new school name from the community. A naming committee, representing various stakeholder groups (parents, community members, board members, administrators, and teachers) then met to review all submissions. More than 500 individuals submitted up to three responses each as part of the survey. The naming committee submitted their recommendation to the superintendent who presented it to the school board at its August meeting.
In addition to the weekly construction updates posted to the website (on the right-hand side of this page), interested members of the public now can view progress on the construction site in real time with a
live video stream of the project.
