Hello!
My name is Melissa Goetz, and I am a learning support teacher at SAES in the intensive learning support classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, contact me via e-mail at any time: [email protected]
I am a graduate of Waynesburg University where I studied Elementary and Special Education. After college, I worked at Wesley Spectrum Services where I was a social skills therapist for kids who had autism spectrum disorders. I then moved to Pressley Ridge Day School on the North Side of Pittsburgh where I taught high school and middle school students. I started at Shaler in January of 2014 as a long term substitute at Marzolf. I have been at SAES since the beginning of the 2014 school year.
I hold a Master's Degree in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University. I really enjoyed this program, and it has helped me to be a better integrator of technology into my teaching practices.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending my days with my dogs; Slugger, who is a 4 year old beagle terrier mix, Sasha, who is a 2 year old Pit Bull mix, and Bruiser, who is a 1 year old beagle. My husband and I like to travel, attend shows at the theater, and watch sports.
