As you may know, all students in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are eligible to receive a free breakfast and lunch for the entire 2021-22 school year (or until funding runs out). The District offers healthy meals every school day. Children need healthy meals to learn.
Despite the fact that every student is eligible for free meals at school, we are encouraging families to complete the application for free and reduced meals, as there are other benefits for students at the secondary level that are only available to families who have applied and qualify. Some of these additional benefits include:
-AP Testing Fee Reduction
-ACT/SAT/PSAT Testing Fee Waivers
-College Application Fee Waivers
-50% fee reduction for summer school
-Continued free/reduced meals if funding is exhausted prior to the end of the school year
-30-day grace period where benefits continue at the start of the next school year
Even if you did not qualify in a previous year, family income levels and requirements change, so we encourage you to reapply this year. For those families that qualified in a previous year, a new application must be completed per government regulations.
