Shaler Area School District presents


MINDSET MATTERS
How does embracing a growth mindset change the way I parent, teach, learn, and connect with my student?

Whether your student is just entering the school system or looking to transition to college, career, or military, come to learn: 

  • How to measure "success" 
  • How to help your student cope with "failure" 
  • How to help your student be successful for the rest of their lives
  • How to model the right attitude and mindset at home
  • How to make meaningful connections with your student around their interests and passions 

The event will feature:

Keynote Speaker: Gregg Behr - Mr. Behr is a champion of public school and advancing making and learning. He is currently the executive director of the Grable Foundation, through which he supports early childhood education and improved teaching and learning in public schools. He also co-chairs Remake Learning, which is a network of creative and innovative people and organizations in the greater Pittsburgh region aimed to advance and transform teaching and learning to better serve today’s students.

  • Jill Campbell, 5th-grade teacher at Shaler Area Elementary School
  • Kelly Dugan, 3rd-grade teacher at Burchfield Primary School
  • Sarah Neaves, science teacher at Shaler Area Middle School 
  • Zenon Cieslack, Shaler Area Elementary School sixth-grader
  • Courtney O'Brien, Shaler Area Elementary School sixth-grader 
  • Aleice Milcic, Shaler Area Middle School seventh-grader 

Hands-on workshop for participants to apply the information presented to their own lives and situations.
