Shaler Area School District will host a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Open House event for the new Scott Primary School on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Scott Primary School opened at the start of the 2018-19 school year and houses 375 students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. The 82,279-square-foot, two-story structure is designed to house each grade level in its own neighborhood of classrooms and special education rooms and includes additional parking capacity, enhanced security features, a separate cafeteria, library, gymnasium and STEAM room. The building also features an accessible playground for its students.
The Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. with members of the district administration, school board, building staff, and construction and design teams. The public open house will follow the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Scott Primary is located at 705 Scott Avenue, in Glenshaw, Shaler Township.
