Shaler Area student selected for PMEA Western Region Orchestra
Shaler Area High School senior Marissa Fukas was selected to play viola in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s Western Region Orchestra.
Marissa Fukas earned the opportunity to audition for the ensemble after being selected for the PMEA District 1 Orchestra. She placed 4th in violas, which allowed her to advance to the region level orchestra ensemble.
The PMEA Western Region Orchestra will be held at Hollidaysburg Senior High School on February 21 - 23, 2019. The guest conductor will be Scott Laird from The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics where he is the Fine Arts Coordinator and Instructor of Music.
