Dear SAMS Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to announce our final dance of the 2016-2017 school year. The theme this spring will be "Neon Night!" This spring's theme was chosen as a result of input from our entire student body, gathered through the efforts of our middle school student council members. Our student council and activities office will be renting some strobe lights and black lights, which should make the evening a really "glowing" time for our students!
Our "Neon Night!" dance will be held on Friday March 31, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 PM in our cafeteria. Tickets must be purchased in advance at our activities office and the price of admission will be $5.00 per person. Included in the cost of admission will be a piece of pizza .
Some simple guidelines for our final dance are as follows:
-Since "Neon Night!" is the theme, students are encouraged to wear neon colored, dress code appropriate clothing. Please do not feel compelled or pressured to venture to the store to buy any new neon colored clothing, as any bright colored clothing will work well with the lighting! We want this dance to be an enjoyable spring dance for our students, and we wish to keep things as simple as possible.
-A reminder that students who wish to attend must adhere to our guidelines for "Dances", which can be found on page 8 of the 2016-2017 Shaler Area Middle School Student and Parent Handbook. Please note that to be eligible to attend:
*Students must be in good standing academically and behaviorally
(no school suspensions in the month preceding this dance)
*Students must satisfy any library fines, cafeteria debts greater than
$25, or any other financial obligations owed to the school.
We look forward to seeing our students and staff wearing their "NEON" as we enjoy our final dance of the school year!
