Two Shaler Area students accepted into All-State Orchestra

Shaler Area High School students Marissa Fukas, who plays viola, and Sage Wilson, who plays cello, were recognized as two of the top musicians in the state.

Marissa Fukas, a sophomore, and Sage Wilson, a senior, both earned a seat in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Orchestra. The orchestra only accepts 18 violas and 16 cello musicians.

The students will rehearse and perform as members of the PMEA All-State Orchestra, under the direction of Stephen Gage from Youngstown State University, at the Warner Theatre, in Erie, in April, during the All-State Festival.
