Shaler Area is proud to introduce its newest team sport: Unified Sports bocce.
The Unified Sports indoor bocce program is supported through the Special Olympics and Unified Sports program to promote social inclusion through athletics. The program pairs students with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team.
Teams practice at least twice per week and participate in at least three competitions. The Unified Sports bocce season runs from December through February with the Allegheny County Interscholastic Unified Sports Indoor Bocce Championships being held on March 7.
