Shaler Area graduate Kayla Snyder (Class of 2016) helped her Point Park University America250PA team develop and present an integrated marketing campaign for the United States Postal Service that has advanced to the Nov. 19 state competition in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

The Pennnsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial (America250PA) was established to plan for and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

America250PA partnered with academic and industry leaders to offer Pennsylvania higher education students the opportunity to help launch America250PA — a six-year, statewide celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday — beginning in 2020. Gov. Tom Wolf invited students from every university and college in the Commonwealth to participate in a three-round competition that will teach students integrated marketing campaign strategy and let them turn their ideas into viable campaigns for the America250PA launch.

Snyder is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and advertising from Point Park University in Downtown Pittsburgh. She focused on the research and structuring of her team’s integrated marketing campaign plan.
