Three Middle School GATE students placed in the Plant and Pollinator pair drawing contest, the third Challenge in The Fairchild Challenge at Phipps, a yearlong environmental competition.

Middle School students Richard Yanchev and Emily Kelly tied for first in the contest and Allison Squire’s artwork is featured in the top 10 gallery.

Each of the winners will be invited to appear on the Saturday Light Brigade on Saturday morning, February 21 – tune in at 88.3 FM or online at slbradio.org.

In addition to the local contest, the top 10 entries in the Plant-Pollinator Relationships contest will compete in a global challenge against 9 other international and national institutions. Online voting will begin April 1 to April 30 as part of the challenge; winning entries of the Global Challenge will be published in the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden's magazine.
