Five Shaler Area student musicians will represent the District in the annual Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District honors ensembles this spring.

Eighth-graders, Michael Zang (trumpet) and Peter Moorey (trombone), were selected to perform in the PMEA Junior High District Band Concert at Bethel-Park High School, April 10-11.

Eighth-graders Marissa Fukas and Camryn Turner (both on viola) and ninth-grader Esther Kim (violin) were selected to perform in the PMEA Junior High District Orchestra Concert at Pine-Richland High School, April 17-18.

Both concerts will be comprised of students from School Districts in Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
