Shaler Area students participate in Heinz History Center's first youth-designed exhibit
Students from Shaler Area High School and six other area schools recently participated in Green City Remix, the first youth designed exhibit at the Heinz History Center, which opens this month.

The students spent several months exploring the 1940s Smoke Control Campaign, current air quality concerns, and social change strategies. Working with a local artist, the students designed three installations that explore ways in which Pittsburgh can continue to improve on its legacy as a smoky city. The exhibit will feature archival sources remixed by the students to make a statement about change and the future of Pittsburgh.

The Opening Celebration will be Monday, May 22, from 5-7 p.m. The Senator John Heinz History Center is located at 1212 Smallman Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. For information about parking, visit www.heinzhistorycenter.org/parking.
