SAEF presents 2nd Taste of Shaler Area event on March 25

Shaler Area Education Foundation will host the second annual “A Taste of Shaler Area” event from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at Shaler Area High School.

The event will feature food from local restaurants, music and a variety of silent auction items, including student artwork and university scholarships.

The Shaler Area Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the educational needs and curricular advancement of Shaler Area students by raising funds that can be used to purchase additional resources to increase the educational opportunities for all students in the district.

This year’s event will include specialty food samples from local businesses in the Shaler Area community including: Cole Café, Hog’s Head Bar & Grill, Isabella’s Pizza, Le Thai Café, Pollak’s Candy, Pittsburgh Sweet Treats and The Nutrition Group.

Additionally, the Act 80 Band, a band that includes current Shaler Area teachers, will provide entertainment throughout the evening.

Student artwork will be available in a silent auction during the March 25 event, but the Shaler Area Education Foundation will extend the silent auction for the university scholarships, including a $6,000 Duquesne University scholarship, through noon on April 3.

Presale tickets are a $20 donation per person and on sale in the high school activities office, 381 Wible Run Road, as well as the District’s Administration Offices, 1800 Mt. Royal Blvd. Tickets also will be available at the door. Contact the activities office for more information at 412-492-1200 ext. 1530.
