A child’s early years are a key time of mental and emotional development, as they form skills that will help them to succeed in school—and beyond. That is why the Shaler Area School District is so pleased that preschool programs are offered at primary schools in our district free of charge to qualifying families.

With the winter weather season approaching, we want to remind our families of the district’s procedures for delaying or cancelling the school day to ensure you can plan accordingly and provide information about the district using Flexible Instructional Days in place of cancelling classes due to inclement weather.

Shaler Area is looking to help students gear up for the start of the 2022-2023 school year with a summer literacy camp for students K-3. Shaler Area’s K-3 Summer Literacy Camp is a three-week blended program that will run from July 25 to August 12, 2022. There will be two on-site days each week (Monday and Tuesday) and three virtual days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). The camp hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
