Remember, MATH is...FUN
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This year you will be learning a variety of math concepts. These concepts include:
- decimal and fraction computation
- fraction, decimal, percent conversions
- ratios
- integers
- expressions (algebra)
- equations and inequalities
- geometry (area and volume)
- statistics and probability
WHAT IS EXPECTED: Homework is assigned daily to reinforce and provide practice for concepts and skills taught in school, or as studying or reviewing material for a test or quiz. Students are expected to have the assigned homework completed when they come to class to receive full credit. Most assignments will be given in a chapter packet – each student will receive one packet and they should keep their packet in their binder so they do not lose it. At the end of every chapter, there will be a test – approximately every week to two weeks. Throughout each chapter, quizzes (on one concept) may be given to monitor student progress. Students are responsible for completing all homework and in-class work on time. Points will be deducted for incomplete or late work.
HELPFUL HINTS:
Use your assignment book daily – record assignments accurately, go home and look over your assignment book (show someone at home what you are working on).
Ask Mrs. McDermott if you have ANY questions - I am here to help you!
