When is your child too sick for school?
A fever of 100 degrees or more | Keep your child home until the fever is gone for 24 hours without using Tylenol, Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or aspirin |
Vomiting | Keep your child home until the vomiting stops and your child can eat a light meal |
Strep throat | Keep your child home for the first 24 hours after starting antibiotics |
Pain from injuries or procedures | Keep your child home until pain can be controlled by Tylenol, Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or aspirin |
Severe cold or persistent cough | Keep your child home until the coughing decreases |
After a night your child slept poorly | Make sure your child is well rested for school |
