Student Representatives

Each school year, the Shaler Area School Board of Directors invites two high school students to serve as student representatives on the board. The student representatives serve as liaisons between the student body and the school board during the monthly school board meetings. The student representatives provide feedback and input to the school board members as well as bring concerns and ideas from the student body to the school board and administration.

Meet the 2018-2019 Student Representatives:

Gabriella and Jake

Gabriella Mizera and Jake Solomon

Jake Solomon, a Shaler Area High School senior, returns to the school board as student representative for the second year after serving in the position during the 2017-18 school year.

Jake is a member of the high school student government and competes in shot put for the Shaler Area Track and Field team. He also practices boxing outside of school.

Gabriella Mizera, a junior at Shaler Area High School, joins the School Board in her first year as a student representative.

Gabriella is involved in the French Honor Society and English Honor Society and is a member of the high school's Student Political Action Committee for Education (SPACE) club as well as Stand Together, the high school's mental illness advocacy group. Outside of school, she takes dance classes.
