Sewing and Advanced Sewing
These courses are open to anyone with a creative spirit who desires to make something uniquely their own. You'll begin by learning some basic sewing terminology, identifying various equipment and it's use, and explaining pattern and fabric selection. Then you will learn the "ins and out"of operating a sewing machine, a serger, and an embroidery machine.
Projects are driven by your demonstrated skills and imagination. Previous projects have included: tote bags, purses, bathrobes, shower wraps, sundresses, and quilts. Anything is possible with your creative energy!!!

This course is an exploration of the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children from infancy to school age. By examining these aspects of growth and development, students become better prepared to understand the responsibilites and challenges of childcare.

Preschool/Nursery Lab 1
This course allows the student with special interest and ability to pursue an advanced study of children. By learning how to set up, work, and observe in an actual preschool situation, students become more aware of child development and related employment opportunities.
Nursery Lab 2
This course is designed for the student who wishes to be part of the operation of a working preschool. They will have the opportunity to interact with the preschoolers and their parents. They will be instrumental in planning the day-to-day activities and management of the preschool facilities.
Advanced Lab
Students interested in pursuing a career in education will find this class an asset to their training. Emphasis is placed on guiding the preschoolers safely through their daily preschool activities. You will gain self confidence through planning lessons and activities, and incorporating various strategies into your classroom management.
