Updated Trip Commitment Form

The updated 17-18 Trip Commitment Form has been added to the form section to the right. Here are a few changes/adjustments for this year:

*Students must show their director proof of a 2.0 QPA before we can accept their deposit (per administration)

*The cancellation date was changed from November 14 to December 14.

*In order to withdrawal from the trip, notification must be in writing (U.S Postal or Email) to the Director and the student records contact.

The commitment form and deposit is due no later than September 15, 2017.

Clothing Sale
An order is going to be placed at the beginning of September for SA Marching Band clothing.  Please see the order form and pictures of the clothing items available for sale under forms to the right of this page.  You can either turn your order in at the clothing booth at Performance Night or you can mail your order and check to Shari Heller.  All information is on the order form.  Any questions, please contact Shari Heller ([email protected]). 
Uniform News

It's that time of the year again for uniform fittings - I am in need of parent volunteers to help with the fittings - if you are available these days, please consider helping. Please contact me if you are able to help and if you have any questions at [email protected]

All new and current band members must attend one of the scheduled uniform fitting times in the High School Band room:

Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 pm for 8th and 12th grade, or any new band members

Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 pm for 9th, 10th, or 11th grades, or any member who was unable to attend the previous week.

If you are unable to attend the preferred session for your grade level please attend the alternate date.

Please enter the band room through the outside door; do not attempt to get to the band room through the school.Please plan to attend one of the fittings so that you can try on your uniform to determine if any alterations are needed. All uniforms requiring adjustment will be altered prior to band camp. Uniforms will be distributed during band camp with a Uniform Commitment form, the form will need to be signed by both the student and parent and be returned prior to the Kennywood Parade.

New members will receive a band t-shirt, compliments of the Shaler Area Band Parents’ Association (SABPA). The band t-shirt must be worn under the uniform to every event. Additional t-shirts can be purchased for $10 each.

New instrumentalists may purchase a duffle bag to carry marching band hats, gloves, and shoes. Garment bags are labeled and issued with the uniform and are to hold ONLY the uniform and raincoat. Duffle and garment bags are to be brought to every event. The SABPA will provide duffle bags for sale at a cost of $27 each.

Crew neck sweatshirts are available for purchase for the colder games to wear under the uniform. You may purchase them for $16 each.

Please bring a check, made payable to SABPA, or cash to one of the July fittings for the purchase of your duffle bag, sweatshirt and any additional t-shirts.

The band is using this system to keep track of financials, contact information and other band related items. This is our first year using the Charms system, so please be patient while we roll this out.

You should have received an e-mail from Mr. Tepshich today regarding the Charms account, if you have not please let me know.

There will be a link to Charms on the right side of the Band's homepage to easily access your account.

Congratulations to the following students who were selected to be our Drum Majors for the 2017-18 Titan Marching Band!

These 2 students will attend Drum Major Academy at Indiana University of Pennsylvania this summer and then lead 160 of their peers next season! They will also conduct the Shaler Area Alma Mater at our Spring Band concert next week. Good luck!
